SMTP Options Overview
The following instructions describe the three Program Options that control how emails are sent from WeEstimate and who is included as a recipient when sending Quote Packages (QP).
Accessing Program Options
You can access these settings in WeEstimate by navigating to: Tools → Program Options
⚠️ Important:
For any change to Program Options to take effect, WeEstimate must be closed and reopened after saving changes. All settings described below are system-wide and configured by administrators in the programOption table under the SMTP group.
1. Use SMTP Email Purpose
Controls whether WeEstimate sends emails automatically through an SMTP server or opens them in Microsoft Outlook for manual review and sending. Default: FALSE (Outlook) Behavior Program Option Value Resulting Behavior

2. Send SMTP to Self Purpose
Automatically includes the logged-in user as a recipient when sending Quote Packages.
This allows users to retain a copy of all emails they send. Default: FALSE Behavior Program Option Value Resulting

3. Include MPOC as a Recipient When Sending a QP Purpose
Automatically includes the Main Point of Contact (MPOC) assigned to the project as a recipient when sending Quote Packages. Default: TRUE
