What are the Software & Hardware Requirements to Use WeSuite Applications?

Minimum Hardware & Software Requirements

This document includes minimum recommended requirements for using WeSuite software.

Please note: all network requirements, connectivity, hardware, software, resources, user configuration and rights, etc., are the sole responsibility of the WeSuite Client and its IT Department and/or third party resources. This includes and is not limited to: SQL purchase, setup and management, database backups, user configuration and rights, Domain rights, Role rights, communication to SQL, new user creation, and all forms of network and IT ownership, maintenance and support.

SQL Server Minimum Requirements

SQL Editions

There are currently seven (7) editions of SQL Server.  You may utilize the following link provided by Microsoft to review and evaluate what is best for your organization.  A minimum of SQL Standard 2012 or higher is recommended.  We do not recommend the Express version as it is important to note that Express is limited to 1GB Ram and 10GB of data.

The most important aspect of choosing the right edition of SQL is scalability as it pertains to Processes and RAM.

Minimum Server Requirements:

From both testing and feedback from WeSuite Clients, it appears that the biggest factors in SQL running efficiently are: the amount of RAM and the type of Hard Disk purchased by your IT Department. WeSuite Clients report significant performance increases in SQL and all applications using that instance of SQL, when using machines with Solid State drives.  Therefore, for WeSuite systems, it is recommended to ensure a healthy amount of RAM is available and the use of solid state drives.

Minimum Requirements as per Microsoft can be further researched at:

For larger WeSuite systems (60+ Users) it is recommended that the system have at least 16GB RAM. Anything below 8 GB RAM is insufficient. It is important in all cases to understand that SQL is sharing the RAM with the Operating System, and possibly an IIS, if you are running multiple applications from the same box.  The number of processors also plays a large role in performance.  Licensing models provided by Microsoft are per processor.
