Server Access Pre-Requisites
WeSuite Environment Staging — New Server Migration
Purpose
Prior to accessing a new server for the first time, WeSuite requires that the following access rights and configurations be established by the customer’s IT team. These pre-requisites must be completed before WeSuite can begin staging the WeSuite environment on the new server.
1. Administrator-Level Server Access
The WeSuite user account must be granted full administrator-level access on the server, including rights and permissions to:
- Install programs and software
- Create, modify, and delete folders and files
- Configure server settings and services
- Manage user accounts and permissions
2. SQL Server Administrator Access
The WeSuite user account must be granted SQL Server administrator (sysadmin) privileges to support the following:
- Create new databases
- Modify database properties and configurations
- Manage SQL Server logins and roles
Note: At minimum, the account must have the sysadmin server role assigned in SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) or an equivalent level of access sufficient to create and configure databases for the WeSuite application.
3. Multi-Server Environments (If Applicable)
If the environment includes multiple servers (e.g., a dedicated Web Server and a separate Application/Database Server), the following additional permissions are required:
- Server Manager access on each server to install Roles and Features
This may include, but is not limited to:
- IIS (Internet Information Services) and related Web Server roles
- Application Server roles and features
- .NET Framework components
- Windows features required by the WeSuite application stack
4. Wildcard SSL Certificate (Web Server Only)
If a new Web Server is being provisioned as part of this migration, the customer’s current Wildcard SSL certificate must be reimported onto the new Web Server prior to WeSuite’s access.
Please ensure the following before WeSuite begins work:
- The Wildcard SSL certificate and its private key are exported from the current server
- The certificate is imported into the Windows Certificate Store on the new Web Server
- The certificate is bound to the appropriate IIS site(s) on the new server
Note: WeSuite does not manage SSL certificates on behalf of the customer. Please coordinate with your IT team or certificate authority to ensure the certificate is valid, properly installed, and not expired before migration begins.
